Textbook: The latest edition of the TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course Provider Manual includes evidence-based content developed by trauma emergency experts. The 24-chapter, comprehensive manual is a compilation of current trauma nursing standards and a valuable resource for future reference.

Online learning: Online modules with links to additional information are provided prior to the course date to let you learn at your own pace, apply what you learn and receive immediate feedback, and refer back to information at any time. The modules are a complete case study process — taking you through an entire sequence of care.

Live simulation: TNCC includes hands-on training using both an individual and team approach.  Trauma nursing process psychomotor skills stations offer you the opportunity to practice trauma patient assessments and interventions in a controlled environment.

Instructor-led classroom discussions and skill stations: TNCC is a one and a half-day intensive course taught by expert instructors.

Each student will earn at total of  22 CEU’s (CA BRN) upon completion of the course.  Contact hours are an accumulation of Pre-course modules, Online Exam, and Day 1& 2 attendance.

In order to receive TNCC certification, you must be a Registered Nurse. All other licensed personal will only receive Continuing Education Units for the course.

What is ACLS- Provider?

This course is designed to teach lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a team leader when responding to in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.  ACLS Provider is a fourteen (14) hour, two-day program that provides training in a supportive, interactive environment. Case studies and videos are utilized so as to provide opportunities to integrate knowledge with practical skills.

This course does not teach ECG nor pharmacology information. The course covers extensive material in a short period of time and requires preparation.

Course Prerequisites

A current CPR Card (healthcare/professional) is strongly recommended but not required.  

A current (2015 Guideline) AHA ACLS Student Manual is required and must be brought to class. Please be aware that the student manual IS NOT included in the cost of this course. You may purchase a student manual in advance for $50 from Falck Training & Education Center (FalckTEC). Please call ahead to purchase and reserve a book as there is a limited supply and we cannot guarantee availability.   It is YOUR responsibility to see that you have the required manual for class.  The AHA will not allow students to participate in any AHA class without the required manual. The AHA also requires that you complete the online pre-test, and bring it with you to class.  YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN TO THE CLASS WITHOUT THE REQUIRED STUDENT MANUAL AND COPY OF PRE-COURSE SELF ASSESSMENT AND CHECKLIST RESULTS (70% or HIGHER).  PRINT RESULTS BEFORE CLOSING ASSESSMENT, OR YOU WILL HAVE TO RE-TAKE.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT WILL RESULT IN A $75 RE-SCHEDULING FEE.

Participants can complete the Online BLS for Healthcare Providers course prior to class and be tested on BLS skills in class to receive a new BLS certification card that matches their ACLS certification expiration date.  Order the Online BLS option to start on the online portion of the course.

 

What is ACLS- Update?

What is BLS for Healthcare Providers?

BLS-HCP is a four (4) hour, one-day course that provides training in a supportive, interactive environment. Case studies and videos will be utilized to provide opportunities to integrate knowledge with practical skills. The course covers an extensive amount of material in a short period of time and requires preparation.

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction and automated external defibrillation. This course is intended for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.

Course Prerequisites

Please be aware that the student manual IS NOT included in the cost of this course.  An AHA 2015 Guideline BLS Provider Manual is required and must be brought to class. The AHA will not allow you to particpate in the course without the required textbook.

Again, The AHA will not allow students to participate in any AHA class without the required manual.  

 

What is ITLS-Provider?

International Trauma Life Support is designed  especially for Paramedics and other advanced EMS providers. It is a comprehensive course covering skills necessary for rapid assessment, resuscitation, stabilization and transportation of trauma patients.

This sixteen (16) hour, two-day program provides training in a supportive, interactive environment. Case studies, videos and hands on practice are utilized to provide opportunities to integrate knowledge with practical skills.

Course Prerequisites:

AN ITLS manual is required and must be brought to class. This manual IS NOT included in the cost of tuition. 

EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 2016, THE REQUIRED TEXT BOOK WILL BE ITLS 8th Edition.

What is ITLS- Refresher?

International Trauma Life Support is designed  especially for Paramedics and other advanced EMS providers. It is a comprehensive course covering skills necessary for rapid assessment, resuscitation, stabilization and transportation of trauma patients.

This eight (8) hour, one-day program provides training in a supportive, interactive environment. Case studies, videos and hands on practice are utilized to provide opportunities to integrate knowledge with practical skills.

 

Course Prerequisites:

An ITLS manual is required and must be brought to class. This manual IS NOT included in the cost of tuition. 

  • This is a mandatory requirement for ALL American College of Emergency Physician (ACEP) classes and you will not be allowed into the class without the required textbook.
  • We maintain a limited inventory in Petaluma however, we do not ship text books.
  • If you need to purchase a textbook from verihealth, please call us in order to do so. (You must pick up the book at 2190 S McDowell Blvd Petaluma, Ca before the day of your class)
  • There are a number of vendors selling them online for a range of prices if you do not have access to one otherwise.

 

What is PALS-Provider?

This course is designed to provide Pediatric Advanced Life Support training for experienced nurses, paramedics, and other allied health professionals. Standards of care, established by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, will be utilized.

PALS-P is a fourteen (14) hour, two-day program that provides training in a supportive, interactive environment. Case studies and videos will be utilized to provide opportunities to integrate knowledge with practical skills. The course covers an extensive amount of material in a short period of time and requires preparation.

 

Course Prerequisites

What is PALS-Update?

The EMT Verification of Skills Competency (VSC) session will satisfy the Title 22 requirement for EMT skills verification.  It is designed for the currently certified EMT to demonstrate skills competency in a scenario based setting.   It is VERY important that the skills sheets be reviewed and skills practiced prior to coming to the EMT VSC session.  Any questions can be directed to the vTI Training Coordinators via courses@veriheatlh.com.
