What is BLS for Healthcare Providers?
BLS-HCP is a four (4) hour, one-day course that provides training in a supportive, interactive environment. Case studies and videos will be utilized to provide opportunities to integrate knowledge with practical skills. The course covers an extensive amount of material in a short period of time and requires preparation.
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction and automated external defibrillation. This course is intended for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.
Please be aware that the student manual IS NOT included in the cost of this course. An AHA 2015 Guideline BLS Provider Manual is required and must be brought to class. The AHA will not allow you to particpate in the course without the required textbook.
You may purchase a student manual in advance for $20 from vTI. Please call ahead to purchase and reserve a book as there is a limited supply and we cannot guarantee availability. It is YOUR responsibility to see that you have the required manual for class. Again, The AHA will not allow students to participate in any AHA class without the required manual.
